Bassist Chris Allen, pianists Matt Harris, Winston Hall and drummer Galen Smith smoothed out the jazz last Monday evening from 8-10 pm in KDAQ's new studio at LSU-S on Youree Drive. The Fall Fund Drive is in full swing says Kermit Poling, KDAQ General Manager.

Our Fall Fund Drive starts Monday, October 14 and runs through Monday, October 28. Thanks to everyone who made a pledge during cyber day. Please help us move forward during our fall campaign by pledging your support online here or by phone at 800-552-8502. We'll be drawing every weekday morning at 9 am for a pair of tickets to see David Sedaris Live at the Strand. The show takes place at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 25th, 2013.  At the end of the drive we'll draw for an ASUS Laptop computer. Bassist Chris Allen is bringing several friends with him to the Louisiana State Exhibit Building on Greenwood Road Saturday night for a look at blues and jazz in our culture. Special guest, singer Seva May, joins the ensemble to round out an evening which promises to leave you begging for more. This performance is the second in a series of three jazz concerts presented this summer by the Shreveport Summer Music Festival with Director Leonard Kacenjar. Named in honor of local musician and educator Edward (Eddie" Kozak this is its inaugural season, with one more concert to follow next Saturday, August 25, also at 7:30 PM, also at the LA. State Exhibit building on the State Fair Grounds.
