Working with a new mouthpiece this week-end before Thanksgiving

So far, so good, with the new mouthpiece I ordered recently from Wichita Band Instrument Company. Found out about it on FB last week and then was worried it wouldn't arrive before I need it.

More later! Have to practice and then catch the Cowboys (dem boys) on TV.

November 22 & 23, 2013 | Majestic Theatre / 8:00 pm

Cristian Măcelaru, conductor | Philippe Quint, violin

American violinist Philippe Quint gives sparkle and polish to each note of Mendelssohn’s immortally vibrant Violin Concerto on a program that also features a luscious arrangement for orchestra of Brahms’s Piano Quartet in G minor that abounds with memorable melodies. Bach’s Ricercare from Musical Offering, with its dialogue of overlapping voices, creates a brilliant and complex musical structure, and brings the inventive genius of Bach to the forefront.

Bach, arr. Webern Ricercare from Musical Offering
  Mendelssohn Violin Concerto

Brahms, arr. Schoenberg Piano Quartet in G minor
