Baroque Artists of Shreveport (BAS) opens its 2009-10 season at Centenary College Hurley School of Music

Sunday, October 4, 2009, a rainy, dreary day outside but not inside Anderson Hall in the Hurley School of Music. Wonderful sounds of life eminated from the stage with the glorious sounds of Baroque music to a good sized crowd of music lovers including yours truly, who would love to play baroque music, but the repertoire is limited for horns. So I just became another enthralled audience member for a change and, of course, took photos. The concert was free as are all BAS concerts.

CONCERT NEWS - The Longview Symphony will present its opening concert 7:30 PM Saturday evening on Oct 10 at LeTourneau College. Unfortunately, budget cuts have forced the LSO to reduce its full orchestra concerts to 3 this season instead of the usual 4 plus the night in Vienna in late December. For the first time ever in my history with the Longview Symphony, smaller ensembles have been scheduled for several programs and will be held at various locations in Longview as per the symphony's website.
