TAKE A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR 13-14 SEASON

Subscription renewal information has just been mailed to our current subscribers.  Soon our 13-14 season will be announced to the general public.  Here is a sneak peek:
Our five Bravo concerts will run the musical gamut from Beethoven to Prokofiev and even includes the premier of a new work by Crafton Beck called Passages. We’ll perform the monumental Requiem by Verdi, a moving work of almost operatic proportions, on which we will be joined by the choirs of Ole Miss and 4 internationally active soloists.  The season also includes one of the hottest young violinists in America today: Stefan Jackiw playing the incredible Brahms Violin Concerto; the popularCapriccio Espagnol by Rimsky-Korsakov; MSO Principal Clarinet Ken Graves playing Mozart’s Concerto and the blockbusterPictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky.
Our four Chamber concerts will bring down the house next year.  They include not only our popular traditional Baroque and Mozart by Candlelight concerts, but also a program that includes everything from Puccini to Haydn and a season closer with Jackson area favorite guest pianist Alon Goldstein, winner of the Wideman Piano Competition and a frequent performer here.  He’ll collaborate on Mozart and Brahms with our principal musicians.
Finally, our toe-tapping Pops series features American diva cabaret singer Ann Hampton Callaway- a multiplatinum-selling singer, composer, lyricist, pianist, and actress joining MSO with her new show THE STREISAND SONGBOOK.  MSO also teams up with Broadway Pops International for their incredible show: Oh What A Night! Billboard Hits Of The 1960s. And as always, there is the fun and excitement of the incomparable Pepsi Pops.
