First Baptist Church of Shreveport brings back The Many Moods of Christmas Sunday December 15, 2013

"The Many Moods of Christmas" a suite written in four parts by Robert Russell Bennett will be featured this Sunday Morning December 15 at the First Baptist Church of Shreveport 10:30 am service. 

Music Minister Glen Adkins will be conducting the Sanctuary Choir and full orchestra.

For the Christmas season this year, the Sanctuary Choir will present "The Many Moods of Christmas" by Robert Shaw and Robert Russell Bennett, and the choir will be accompanied by full orchestra.  This entire work is a collection of familiar Christmas carols including Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful, Joy to the World, Away in a Manger, What Child Is This, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, and The First Noel, just to name a few. 

Come, join us for a time of special worship during this Christmas season!

ULM - Resident Black Bayou Brass celebrates Christmas at Grace Episcopal Church, Monroe Tuesday 12-10 @ 7:00 pm

Black Bayou Brass, resident faculty brass ensemble in the ULM Department of Music, will present their annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:00pm at Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe. The ensemble is comprised of Department of Music faculty, Aaron Witek (trumpet), James Boldin (horn), and James Layfield (trombone). Special guest artists will include Dr. Claire Vangelisti, soprano, and Dr. Richard Seiler, organ and piano.This yearly concert is a tradition in the community, and will feature a number of holiday favorites arranged for brass. Admission is free and open to the public, although donations will be gladly accepted.
